connecticon was pretty cool, though i was kind of dying without internet by that point. :c and my happy ovals were not prepared for me suddenly being in a crowd of hundreds of people at once, so for the first day and a half, i was a shaky pathetic mess. oops, i am really bad at not being socially anxious!???!?!??! but yeah. the lack of internet was kind of a total killer.
seriously. i'm wilting over here. kind of like my bamboo that no one watered for the past week while i was out of state.
though aside from that, i really didn't miss pennsylvania. i mean, i was staying in middle of nowhere, connecticut for a week and i still think this place kind of sucks a little. oh well.
........shit, i never have anything to say on this thing.
wait, no, have a story. while in connecticut, i often saw billboards for this place called kaoud oriental rugs. every time i see one, it reminds me of my great-grandmother's funeral a few years ago. my great-uncle showed up drunk, and he sat next to my great-grandfather. he was loud, he kept offering the widower candy and stuff, and i remember with some clarity how he commented at some point about the rug. "it's a nice rug, i bet it's a kaoud rug." i don't think most of the family's heard from him in some time.
i'm sorry that it wasn't a better story, or a happy one. it's almost funny now, but it's also kind of sad to think about at the same time.
